2024-Current Lotus Emira Billet Shifter Gate Installation Guide
Remove the center console rubber pad by pulling it staight back. Lift up the center console panel from the front, by pulling on the indicated areas.
Fully release all the clips holding the center console panel by working front to back.
We recommend using a microfiber towel or gloves to prevent injuries and cuts on the fingers.
Before lifting up the panel further, disconnect the plug to the ignition switch.
Set aside the ignition switch.
Loosen the M5x16 grub screw from the front of the gear shift knob with a 2.5mm hex key, as shown in the picture.
Remove the spring and o-ring, play close attention to their orientation for later re-assembly. The o-ring fits into the shift knob recess.
Also make sure to count the turns it takes to remove the shift knob for reinstallation.
Lift up the panel to reveal the zip tie holding the shifter boot. Cut the zip tie and fully remove the center console panel.
Remove the shifter boot by unscrewing four T20 screws on the back side of the panel as indicated in the picture.
Install the supplied brackets to the NYTOP Billet Shifter Gate with the supplied M4 screws.
Make sure that the lower tabs of the bracket faces forward on each side.
Install the shifter gate with the supplied self-tapping plastic screws. Line back up the center console panel for test fitting, adjust the brackets if needed.
The shifter position can be adjusted, if needed, by adjusting the upper linkage.
To adjust, remove the ball socket safety pin carefully, remove the socket from the ball joint, loosen the locking nut and turn the socket either way.
We recommend putting a towel below the linkage before removing the safety pin, to prevent losing the pin in the tunnel.
After the shifter and the shifter gate are in the desired position, reinstall the shift knob, the center console panel and the rubber pad.
Plug back in the ignition switch, and tuck the wiring hardness under the indicated area in the picture, before clipping the switch back into place.
Enjoy the open view of the shifter mechanism!
